Collective Travel Options
For Shri MahaGanesha Puja 2027, we are planning collective transport options to and from Uluru, so wherever practical brothers and sisters can travel together without needing to organise each part of the journey themselves.
Collective options being considered include air travel, coach transport and shared/group cars, including travel from Alice Springs to Uluru for those participating in the Realise Alice Springs Tour.
A 2 day coach trip will only be available from Adelaide to Uluru – further details to come.

For Yogis arriving into Sydney
For international yogis arriving into Sydney, India style accommodation between flights can be provided at our Burwood Ashram in Sydney. Please contact us for further details.

The information below provides details about flights, driving, airport transfers and getting around the Uluru region.
Flying to Uluru
The easiest way to reach Uluru is to fly directly to Ayers Rock (Connellan) Airport – AYQ, located at Yulara, approximately 10 minutes from Ayers Rock Resort.
Currently, direct flights operate to Yulara from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns, with services provided by Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia. Visitors travelling internationally or from other Australian cities can connect through one of these cities. (Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)

Ayers Rock Airport to your accommodation
Complimentary airport coach transfers are currently provided for Ayers Rock Resort hotel guests travelling on scheduled Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin flights. Advance bookings are not required. After collecting your luggage, follow the hotel transfer signs and board the AAT Kings coach outside the terminal. (Ayers Rock Resort)

Driving from Alice Springs
Uluru is approximately 465 km by road from Alice Springs, with a direct driving time of approximately 5.5 hours. The road from Alice Springs to Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park is fully sealed and suitable for a standard 2WD vehicle. (Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)
Cars can be hired at Alice Springs, Ayers Rock Airport or Yulara. Rental vehicles at Yulara are limited, so Parks Australia recommends booking ahead. (Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)
Getting around Uluru
Ayers Rock Resort provides a free shuttle bus around the Resort and Yulara, including transport between accommodation and Town Square. This shuttle does not take visitors into Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. (Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)
To travel into the National Park, visitors can use a hire car, organised tour or the Uluṟu Hop On Hop Off bus service. There are no taxis or regular public transport within the National Park. - Ayers Rock Resort → Uluru: 20 minutes
- Ayers Rock Resort → Kata Tjuta: 45 minutes
- Ayers Rock Resort → Ayers Rock Airport: 10 minutes (Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park)
We recommend booking flights, accommodation and hire cars well in advance, as availability at Yulara can be limited, particularly during busy periods.
